Background Takahashi’s Spring Summer 2003 “Scab” Collection first debuted at Paris Fashion Week in 2002. Up until this point, Takahashi was pretty unknown outside of Japan. He took inspiration from current militaristic conflicts in order to create a collection highlighting “ethnic” fabrics, reworked garments, and powerful messages. His creations transcended clothing, placing an emphasis on the art and craftsmanship behind the design. After such a unique showcase as PFW, Takahashi was able to bring Undercover to the world stage for all to appreciate.
