Details For his Autumn Winter 2002 collection, the designer set out to explore the duality of humans and their relationship with nature, titling the collection “Virginia Creeper” after the pest plant of the same name. To illustrate this dichotomy the designer created garments inspired by horror films and traditional military garments. Models wore vests and coats decked in cargo pockets and hand distressed crewnecks and hoodies reminiscent of school uniforms. The naturalist aesthetic becomes even more evident when looking at how each piece of clothing was treated with multiple chemical washes, and dyeing all to create a lived-in and weathered effect. This hoodie is done in a cotton fabrication and features a“VC” graphic on the chest and a tonal roots graphic on the back of the garment.
