For Raf Simons Spring Summer 2004 collection “May The Circle Be Unbroken”, the designer shifted his focus to themes of spiritualism, Gnosticism and literature. Specifically, German author Herman Hesse, was a disciple of gnostic psychologist Carl Jung. The garments showcased the cyclical nature of consciousness, life and the struggle of finding oneself as an individual while maintaining a sense of piece in a collective society. This yellow t-shirt features a black print of a Herman Hesse photograph, reinterpreted as a lithograph on the front of the garment.
