Details
One of Simons’ most visually unsettling collections Autumn Winter 2005, “History Of My World” was the designer’s shift to tailoring and a play on proportions. The corporate, exaggerated white-collar suiting was emblematic of Simons’ ongoing critique of the neoliberal order and consumerism as a whole. Cropped jackets, oversized trousers, and obtuse outerwear filled the catwalk. Outside of the show, the collection featured some of the designer’s most memorable graphics, each taken from various different subcultures or musical influences. This black raglan crewneck features white patches throughout the garment in reference to various haunted locations throughout the world like “The Alamo”, “Camp Chase” and “Stickney Mansion” to name a few.
