In one of the seminal Raf Simons’ collections Spring Summer 2003’s “Consumed” the designer pointed his barrel at materialism and our growing dependence on capitalist culture. Simons explored the relationship between capitalist iconographies like brand logos and symbols to their consumers. To achieve this, the designer turned to the work of collage artist Ashley Bickerton who was known for using brand logos as a critique of capitalism. This black leather jacket is done in a robust cotton fabrication and features Moto styling throughout. Fading and distressing on the sleeves and a bondage strap on the back of the jacket.
