Number (N)ine’s Autumn Winter 2006 “Noir” collection revealed a new focus for Takahiro Miyashita’s design. Whereas Miyashita previously pedestaled street aesthetics and cultural references, “Noir” focused on expert tailoring and meticulous detailing presented through a veil of various black fabrics. Clear themes on darkness, horror, and despair are present in the garments. This black camp collar shirt is constructed out of rayon fabric, giving the garment a soft hand and flowy texture. A skull motif is printed inside the shirt making the graphics appearance less abrasive.
