A founding member of the eclectic Avant-Garde label Carpe Diem, Maurizio Amadei is held in equally high esteem as Avant-Garde legends like Carol Christian Poell and Yohji Yamamoto. Amadei began his journey as an autodidact in the industry. The designer’s central focus is on texture and a unique approach to the structure of patterns gives his pieces unique shapes and forms centered around a few seams and fine details. This bucket style hat is done in a cotton fabrication and features a spiral seam throughout the hat along with a loose hanging thread protruding from the signature cross silver hardware. A double folded brim that changes shape illustrates the designer's concern with the nature of fabrics and their shifting forms.
