Under the tenure of Maurizio Altieri at Carpe Diem Luca Laurini honed his skills working with knitwear while managing the L’Maltieri line until the label dissolved in 2006. Since then Laurini’s mission at his own brand, Label Under Construction is to explore the nature of fabrics, their origin and their relationship to the wearer and to create unique architectural shapes and structures. Great attention is placed during the sourcing and manufacturing of each garment with only natural fabrics being used as opposed to a mix of synthetic fibers. This article was constructed out of military bread bags from the 1950s. A total of 25 pieces were made in the year of 2014. The jeans are cut skinny and feature a robust texture and heavy fabric that will conform to the wearer’s body over time.
