Details Known as a master of denim, Kapital creates new worlds centered around their garments, blending old and new fabrics with a mixture of workwear and bohemian culture. Toshikiyo Hirata established Kapital in Okayama, Japan after returning from a trip in the U.S. as a karate instructor where he was fascinated by denim jeans and workwear. Originally serving as an outlet for his love of vintage clothing and American denim, Kapital began to evolve with the coming of Yoshiyoko son Kiro, who brought along with him his expertise in design and penchant for art. Today the father-son duo have grown Kapital to become one of the most beloved denim and heritage brands out of Japan. This crewneck sweater is an embodiment of Kapital’s take on midwestern Americana and horror movies. This crewneck is constructed out of two faded terry cotton sweaters. The front of the garment features an unfinished American flag embroidery on the chest and the back is done in green terry cotton with a yellow skeletal graphic.
