Details Known as a master of denim, Kapital creates new worlds centered around their garments, blending old and new fabrics with a mixture of workwear and bohemian culture. Toshikiyo Hirata established Kapital in Okayama, Japan after returning from a trip in the U.S. as a karate instructor where he was fascinated by denim jeans and workwear. Originally serving as an outlet for his love of vintage clothing and American denim, Kapital began to evolve with the coming of Yoshiyoko son Kiro, who brought along with him his expertise in design and penchant for art. Today the father-son duo has grown Kapital to become one of the most beloved denim and heritage brands out of Japan. In an effort to create a pair of jeans that would last 100 years Kiro Hirata has employed the ancient sashiko stitching to a 12-ounce pair of denim to create textural and constructional harmony. The brown color achieved on these pair of jeans is from traditional Japanese persimmon dyeing. The sashiko threads have been roped dyed in indigo before stitching to create a perfect balance of color. Sturdy metal hardware throughout and a cinch on the back for fitting options. These jeans have been tailored by a previous owner to produce a flattering skinny fit.
