Details
One of the decades most forward-thinking collections, Helmut Lang’s Autumn Winter 1998 showing, was an embrace of technology and the internet. Lang incorporated his usual austere tailoring with tech fabrics and a neutral color palette. The collection was one of the first to be shared on the internet, thus creating a new space where the designer could create a dialogue between him and consumers. Today this can be seen as common practice, yet at the time it was anything but. This sent a shock throughout the industry, demanding them to follow suit and embrace the digital age to come. This jacket is done in a cotton fabrication with a soft blanket lining. Military-style cut with tonal front-button closure, side slit pockets, and interior pockets. Blow-out on the sleeve from previous use and, cracked buttons.
