Dries Van Noten’s Autumn Winter 2014 collection “Rave and Renaissance” was described as “hell” by the designer and his team. Dries was overwhelmed with the number of different textiles, garment treatments and patterns that went into production. Digging through the archives of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he sought inspiration from old renaissance garments, techniques, and tailoring. The 14th-century painter Agnolo Bronzino served as the muse for the collection, Dries blended this romantic aesthetic with tie-dye and acid washes to create surreal images and silhouettes on the runway. These slate green bondage pants feature a black tie-dye throughout the garment. Zippers accent the waist and ankles, patched bondage straps run through both legs giving the pants a more structured fit.
