For Dior’s Spring Summer 2004 collection “Strip” Hedi Slimane channels rock icons, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger and Sid Vicious. While the rest of the industry was begining their love affair with hip-hop and baggier silouhettes Hedi shifted the paradigm of what was considered a favorable male physique, by showcasing androgynous models in place of what had become traditionally masculine. Rock figures known for their androgynous and flamboyant style influenced the shape of the garments for the collection, bottoms featuring longer inseams as well as tighter fitting shirts and jackets all made their way onto the catwalk. Studded accessories and flashy punk designs were given an updated modern look. This slim leather belt is adorned with black slanted grommets.
