Background
Hedi Slimane's AW06 collection was a radical shift in proportions from his previous works. He stated that he wanted to make a return to couture, designing a collection with darker tones and an eveningwear aesthetic. Although menswear, Hedi aimed to appeal to a female audience as well. Overall, Slimane was able to create formal looks with hints of grunge, evident in the cummerbund trousers.
