Carol Christian Poell Buttonless Blazer - SS02 “Traditional Escape”
Details One of Poell’s most memorable presentations, Spring Summer 2002’s “Traditional Escape” showcased the designers tailoring prowess and penchant for experimentation. Denying nearly all catwalk convention with reckless abandon, Poell had his runway models climb down a makeshift building using drapes/sheets, hence the title of the collection “Traditional Escape”. Like the designer himself, the models were unidentifiable as many were seen wearing blindfolds. This black blazer is done in sturdy black cotton and features a viscose lining, a buttonhole stitch detail in place of an actual buttoning system, back seam, and vent detailing.
