  • DETAILS+

Hussein Chalayan’s Central Saint Martins graduate presentation continues to be one of the most inventive graduate collections still being discussed to this day. The Turkish-born designer takes cues from architecture, interior design, and geometry. His collections featured evocative set pieces, furniture, and other low-maintenance props. The designer, while struggling financially throughout his life, found work in Jewelry design, grants, and money sent to him by the Turkish government. His list of clientele included the likes of Björk, who wore a Chalayan-designed dress for her album 'Post'. His unique blend of fabrics and geometric patterns is still referenced by many to this day. This reversible jacket is done in a cotton fabrication and features a brown plaid fabric reminiscent of bus seat upholstery. The jacket features a zip-up closure and a specialized CD-player compartment with a piece of fabric running through it for headphones. Sun fading throughout from previous use.
