Isamu Katayama’s Backlash label has been putting out inventive one of a kind garments since 1999. The Japanese craftsman was first intrigued by the properties of leather when he would take motorcycle trips with his father during the ’70s. In 1983 he decided to start working at a leather manufacturer. It was there that he educated himself and learned of the unique treatments that hide's undertake throughout their lifetime. Over a decade later, he established his BACKLASH label and has been producing essential leather pieces and more down to earth garments with a twist. Each piece is individually crafted and treated to achieve varying textures, aging and tones. These burgundy corduroy pants have undergone a washing process to create unique fading. The pants feature numerous patchwork repairs throughout and a subtle flared leg that sits perfectly over any pair of boots.
