Raf Simons Oversized Lambskin Leather Bomber Jacket - SS03 "Consumed"

Raf Simon's 2003 Spring-Summer “Consumed” collection was the designer's take on the capitalist culture that the fashion industry resides in. Rather than providing answers to the cultural effect of capitalism on global society, Raf instead parodies these themes of consumption, materialism, and advertising on the runway and in his garments. In his world, a gang of adolescent models is clad in black riot gear and graphic tees each referencing different corporate logos and organizations. The collection itself is dedicated to “Neo-Geo” artist Ashley Bickerton. Bickerton was an avid critic of consumerist culture through his striking collages and paintings exhibited during the 1980s. This jacket is done in lambskin leather it features an oversized fit with a flight jacket pocket on the sleeves, snap buttons on the exterior and interior pockets, and a heavy-duty zipper closure.
