Raf Simons 2003 Spring-Summer “Consumed” collection was the designer's take on the capitalist culture that the fashion industry resides in. Rather than providing answers to the cultural effect of capitalism on global society, Raf instead parodies these themes of consumption, materialism, and advertising on the runway and in his garments. In his world, a gang of adolescent models are clad in black riot gear and graphic tees each referencing different corporate logos and organizations. One of the most famed pieces from Simons' Consumed collection. These grey raw denim jeans feature elastic adjustable bondage straps throughout the entirety of the jeans.
